St. Cyprian’s is a self-sustaining mission church within the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, governed by a vestry whose members serve for three year terms. St. Cyprian’s was yoked from 1979 to 2008 with St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, with one priest serving both congregations. Now St. Cyprian’s is expanding its ministry with dedicated clergy, although we continue to join with St. Stephen’s in various outreach, fellowship, and other activities.
St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church was founded in 1909, and the present church building was completed in 1959. Among the interesting features of the church building are beautiful wooden pews constructed by its founders and icons depicting the Stations of the Cross on the walls of the sanctuary.
